The wait is over!
After AUGUST ALSINA first shared his intentions to release his sophomore album back in July, he has now released the cover art of his new project titled This Thing Called Life. The new album is expected to be released this December.
Fans have been patiently awaiting Alsina’s sophomore release for some time now, partly due to touring and partly due to the fact that he’s had a few medical issues. This summer, the “I Luv This Sh*t” singer revealed that he has a disease called Keratoconus, which caused blindness in his left eye and loss of vision in his right. He underwent a surgery that would prevent his vision from getting worse. Prior to that, he fell into a coma after collapsing on stage during a New York performance.
However, everything seems to be on the up and up. During an interview with Power 105’s the Breakfast Club, Alsina revealed that the album will drop on Dec. 11 and followed the announcement with a trailer for the project. In the trailer, the 23-year-old deals with some pretty heavy thoughts about life in general as well as his personal ambitions, police brutality, and other topics we are dealing with.
The minute and a half long clip ends with footage from a performance, a snippet of new music and a glimpse at the album’s artwork.
